Most people know that there is a brand name for these type of chairs, but they retail at around the £100 - £130 mark.  A lot of very cheap and inferior versions have come onto the market in the last couple of years - but they are, frankly, rubbish.  The design of these style of chairs is excellent but it does place the frame joints and the pole pockets on the fabric in particular under a lot of strain, the cheap and nasty ones fail very quickly there - and/or they are not very light - using steel frames for example.

These ones are different, I've included lots of close up pictures so you can judge for yourself. Good strong stitching on the fabric, thick & heavy material used for the pole pockets, the ends of the poles are well finished and plugged to stop them cutting through the pole pockets.  Poles are well finished anodised aluminium with strong joints, the main knuckle joints are made in quite a thick and heavy duty plastic.  Despite all this the chair in it's carry bag still only weighs 870g.

There is no formal weight limit - but - I am a good test! At 6'2" and close to 20 stone I am not even slightly petite, and I fit in the chair, it holds my weight no problem, and I find them surprisingly comfortable.  Don't expect them to be like a giant padded reclining camping chair, of course they won't be as comfortable as those, but for an ultra lightweight chair to carry with you on a motorbike / bicycle / hike / festival / event / fishing / whatever, they are very good indeed - I think much more comfortable than the "umbrella" type of folding camping chair, and a lot more compact.

The carry bag looks rather like a shoe bag - 34cm long, 12cm x 10cm approximately, very compact indeed.  The chair itself is 57cm wide at it's widest point, 55cm high at the backrest, 34cm high at the front edge of the seat.
